Tungsten Rings
WILL TUNGSTEN RINGS LAST?
When it comes to durability, Tungsten Rings belongs to the top of the list. Having the strength and toughness as that of platinum, this material is made to last you a lifetime – maybe even longer thanks to its scratch-resistant properties! Tungsten alone as a heavy metal, however, can be brittle so you also must do your part and make sure you do not drop them from very high places!
WHAT IF THE TUNGSTEN WEDDING BANDS I ORDERED DON’T FIT?
Please be careful when ordering your ring size. We do have a size chart that can help you get the perfect fit for you and your partner. It is important to note that due to the material, Tungsten Wedding Bands are very difficult to resize without damaging quality. We do offer size exchanges though!
WHAT HAPPENS IF I CAN’T REMOVE A POORLY FITTED MEN’S TUNGSTEN RING?
Being made of a heavy and slightly brittle material like Tungsten has its pros and cons. For instance, they are easier to remove in case of emergencies because the ring may be broken apart with handy tools you can find conveniently, like vice-grips!
What Are Tungsten Rings?
Tungsten carbide rings are a rare metal that boasts some wildly impressive features. This material is the Ivan Drago of earth metals. The name itself derives from the Swedish word for “heavy stone,” if that is any indicator of its properties. It has the highest melting point of any metal, at a balmy 6,192 degrees Fahrenheit. It’s nearly 20 times denser than water, and wouldn’t melt in the pit of a volcano.
They are garnered with such a reputation as a durable and robust juggernaut that it even played a pivotal role in armament dealings in World War II. Have you ever played the board game Risk? Well, let’s say if you had stockpiled a bunch while playing, you could pretty much take over the whole world (or board, but who’s counting).
Remarkable as it is, alone can be volatile and even explosive when working with. But when combined with carbon it becomes tungsten carbide, which is a whole other beast entirely. Think of this as a Power Ranger, giant, powerful machine they all combine to become and defeat bad guys. It is the hardest metal on Earth.
Tungsten wedding bands are so hard and so scratch-resistant that a diamond is the only natural material that can scratch it. It possesses the greatest tensile strength in the world, meaning it is quite unbendable. These are some outer space-level attributes here, folks. Talk about a dinner party conversation starter.
Wearing Tungsten Carbide Rings
Tungsten rings are more robust than anything, and they never lose their finish either. Almost nothing will scratch them unless you have a habit of scratching random objects with your loose diamonds (which we hope is unlikely).
The bands themselves have a pleasant heaviness to them, similar to gold or platinum. This is not a Crackerjack box ring. You will know you are wearing something reliable and heavy-duty. Though tungsten wedding bands are unbendable, they will break or shatter with enough force. This will come in handy when you stick your hand in an angry beehive, and it swells to the size of a watermelon.
If you work with your hands or are a hobbyist or craftsman, this metal will hold up to the wear and tear of just about any tough job. This is the ring a blacksmith in Game Of Thrones wears. It won’t melt, burn, or bend, yet it’s still “jewelry” enough to be cleaned and polished in time for a lovely event.
The Tungsten Wedding Bands Collection
If you want to sport the hardest, most durable, most robust ring ever made after saying “I do,” we invite you to explore Epic Wedding Band’s collection of premium tungsten carbide rings. Selecting a wedding ring is an integral part of the marriage ritual, as it represents a lifelong commitment of love and companionship. However, you probably don’t want to be wearing some “My Little Pony” ring to express your undying love for your spouse.
One of our favorites is the Brayden. This ring brings the modern man and the rugged man together. At your next house party, nobody is going to question who fixes things around the house when they break. This ring is incredibly sleek too, and is sure to make people ask, “What does he do?”
Then there is the Stetson. Polished tungsten rings with a classic subdued green camo band is an excellent look. It immediately brings to mind visions of floating down the Everglades in a pontoon boat hunting for anacondas. Are you wondering where we got the name? Well, President Lyndon Johnson was famous for sporting his 10-gallon Stetson cowboy hat. Do you know what else he was famous for? Driving amphibious West German cars and having a TV in every room of his house, including the bathroom. You could bet the farm he would have been wearing this ring if it existed.
Oh, and we can’t forget the Dean. The dean of what, you may ask? How about being an incredible ring made out of a one-of-a-kind metal. This ring is black as night and will maintain its carbide sheen forever (remember, tungsten carbide rings are essentially unscratchable). The Dean is dark, mysterious, brooding, and most of all, well, black. If you want to look like you just returned from working as a bodyguard on a top-secret classified mission in Zanzibar, this is the ring for you.
Care & Considerations
You won’t ever need any fancy jewelry cleaner for your ring. Just take some mild soap (we recommend scent-free) and warm water and clean as needed. This ring will not get scratched and is easily polished. But remember, you do not want to smash it against a hard surface while you are framing your next log cabin. Tungsten rings will survive a nuclear explosion, so long as it isn’t slammed onto the kitchen floor (it won’t melt, but it will shatter).
As a disclaimer, if you have a nickel allergy, they may not be for you. There is a small amount of nickel alloy in tungsten wedding bands, which could cause an allergic reaction in a small percentage of people with nickel allergies.
